Abstract
The variability of the appearance of nystagmus in Ménière's disease is discussed from the point of view of current conceptions of hydrolabyrinth. It was found that the directional preponderance or canal paresis which is revealed by alternate hot and cold caloric tests could be induced by a labyrinthine stimulation as result of increased endolymphatic pressure.
