Abstract

The problems of direct laryngoscopy performed under general anaesthesia are presented. Thereupon, the authors describe a method for direct laryngoscopy under general anaesthesia in which the patient is ventilated direct through Jackson's anterior-commissure laryngoscope. A total of 237 anaesthesias have been performed without major complications attributable to the method. The technique is recommended, as it is simple and applicable for patients of all ages.
