Pages 398-402 | Received 11 Jan 1966, Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

Tumors originating in the petrosal bone may extend into the cerebral cavity. In these cases without knowing this beforehand, the ear surgeon will be obliged to tresspass the traditional borders of his speciality. In the last 5 years in 3 patients two neuroma and one cholesteatoma were successfully extirpated through the translabyrinthine approach.
