Abstract

Thirten Ss were required to localize pulsed noise in an acoustically treated room while their head movements were restricted. Judgments were made (a) with both ears unoccluded and (b) with the right ear occluded so that its input was attenuated by 40 dB±5 dB. Performance was highly accurate under both conditions and there were no significant differences between conditions.
