Pages 366-370 | Received 28 Sep 1969, Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

By means of the method of magnitude estimation the psychophysical function of electric taste was determined in 6 normal subjects. With purely anodal tongue stimulation the subjective intensity of the electric stimulus grows as a power function of the physical stimulus intensity up at least 300 μA. The value of the exponent n varied individually from 0.7–1.8 with an average of 1.1.
