Pages 329-334 | Received 17 Jul 1970, Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

A review is given regarding different diagnostic methods in peripheral facial palsy. The diagnostic and prognostic value of (1) electromyography, (2) electroneurography, and (3) electrostimulation is especially discussed. If these tests are used routinely it is possible to perform an early decompression of the nerve in selected cases already within 10-14 days.
