Patterns of Puretone Loss in Presbycusis: A Sequential Study

Abstract

A retrospective study of the changes occurring in sequential puretone audiograms of pntients with presbycusis was carried out. The average period under review was 9.4 years in the 25 patients selected. 92% of the ears under study retained the pattern of audiogram initially noted. The possible explanations of the changed pattern in the other cases is discussed.
