Comblned Radiotherapy And Surgery In Treatment Of Carcinoma Of The Tongue

Abstract

Twenty-three patients with carcinoma of the tongue were treated with combined radiotherapy and surgery. A follow-up study was made, demonstrating a 55% three-year determinate survival rate and a 43% five-year determinate survival rate. Postoperative complications were found only in patients treated preoperatively with more than 4 500 rads.
