Transtympanic Facial Nerve Needling: A Curvative Surgical Option for Hemifacial Spasms

Abstract

Ten patients with idiopathic hemifacial spasm were subjected to transtympanic needling of the horizontal segment of the affected facial nerve. Seven patients showed relief of symptoms. This treatment modality is advocated.
