Abstract
This paper deals with the importance and techniques of history taking. Adolescents through to the early twenties, do not have the information available to give a part of the history that can only be obtained by enlisting the help of the parents. A form of history taking from the parents is described and illustrated which brings out important details used in prognosis of adolescent psychiatric disturbance.
