Abstract

Audiometric studies were obtained in three cats by the behavioral conditioning method. In the experimental ear of each animal the incus was replaced by a piece of cortical bone (autograft)

Audiograms taken in the three animals after sugery on days 84, 49, and 44, respectively, were compared with the ones taken at the completion of the experiment, 33, 32½, and 31 months postoperatively

The functional changes were correlated with the histopathological findings in the termporal bones
