Abstract
It would not be right on this occasion to say that it is a pleasure to be here, but it is right to say that I regard Australia, especially the cities of Melbourne and Sydney, to be a home from home and to acknowledge many dear friends in both. Born in India, and having spent most of my life in England, and a big chunk in the United States, I have a similar affection for your country as I have for the other three. The only way in which I note a distinction is on the cricket field. When England plays Australia, I want England to win. But I like India to beat both of them. This year, to everyone's amazement, the miracle happened. India wiped them all up. The U.S. doesn't play cricket, fortunately.
