Urinary Protein in Normal Human Subjects: Electrophoretic Analyses

Pages 259-265 | Received 21 Jan 1963, Published online: 13 May 2010

Abstract

Electrophoretic analysis of normal urine requires concentration of the protein 2000 to 3000 times. The urine is concentrated by positive pressure dialysis. The method is discussed.

The results from electrophoretic analyses on day and night specimens of urine from 58 normal subjects are given. The results are illustrated and the graphs are discussed. The graph for normal urine seems to differ from those found in pathological urine.
