Colorimetric Method for Demonstrating Lactic Dehydrogenase Isoenzymes Separated by Paper Electrophoresis

Pages 405-414 | Received 10 Apr 1963, Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

A method for determining the LDH isoenzymes in serum by the tetrazolium salt INT is described.

The isoenzymes were fractionated by paper electrophoresis at pH 7.5. This revealed five separate fractions with LDH activity. The applicability of the method for abnormal sera is briefly described.
