Abstract
The reliability of a new intravenous fat tolerance test using Intralipid®, an artificial fat emulsion containing soybean oil, was studied in 10 healthy men, aged 18 to 40. Duplicate tests were performed after an interval of 3 days.
Statistical analysis showed that the results of the second test were significantly lower than those of the first, suggesting that the infusion used in the first test affected the result of the second test. After elimination of this effect of the interval, good agreement was found between the results of the first and second tests.
