Abstract

Kvarstein, B. The Use of an Electronic Particle Counter (Celloscope 101) for Counting Leucocytes. Scand. J. din. Lab. Invest. 19, 196-202 1967. A method for counting leucocytes with an electronic particle counter using a Cetrimide solution as hemolyzing diluent was examined.

The electronic particle counter gives reliable results with a coefficient of variation of 4.4 per cent.

The leucocyte counts can be done immediately, or at any time within 24 hours with the same result.

Rise in temperature led to a slight fall in white cell counts.

The procedure did not require siliconized glass tubes.
