Abstract

Tryding, N. & Willert, B. Determination of Plasma Diamine Oxidase (Histaminase) in Clinical Practice. A comparison between a biological method and a radiochemical micromethod. Scand. J. clin. Lab. Invest. 22, 29-32, 1968.

In one hundred consecutive blood plasma samples received at the laboratory for routine measurement of the histaminase activity because of, e.g., threatened abortion, mola hydatidosa or chorionepitelioma, determinations were made of histaminase according to Ahlmark and of diamine oxidase with Tryding's modification of the method of Okuyama & Kobayashi. The correlation coefficient found between the values obtained by the two methods was 0.98. For several reasons, e.g. required amount of blood, time of analysis, readiness of procedure, the ultramicro DAO-method according to Okuyama & Kobayashi as modified by Tryding is recommended.
