Immunochemical Determination of ß-Lipoproteins

Abstract

An improved automated method of immunochemical determination of ß-lipoproteins has been compared with an electrophoretic procedure in agarose gel containing antibodies (Laurell electrophoresis) and with the immunocrit method. Under controlled conditions all three immunochemical procedures give results in good agreement. Advantages and disadvantages of the three methods are discussed. The estimation of the ß-lipoprotein-N content of Cohn Fraction III preparations, used as reference standards, is described.
