Abstract
The distribution volume of 82Br− was determined in normal persons. The time for equilibration was 6 hours after oral, and 4 hours after intravenous, administration of 82Br−. Corrections for 82Br− into erythrocytes and urine were shown to be of importance, whereas individual corrections for plasma protein and Gibbs-Donnan's effect were not needed. The reproducibility of the determinations of the distribu tion volume after oral administration showed a standard deviation of 0.547 Iitres per square metre body surface, whereas the standard deviation 4 hours after in travenous administration was 0.124 litres per square metre body surface.
