Renal Excretion of 51Cr-EDTA Studied with Stop Flow Technique

Pages 373-380 | Received 10 Jun 1970, Accepted 17 Sep 1970, Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

The renal clearance of 51Cr-EDTA in dogs was found to be about 10 per cent lower than inulin clearance. To test whether this difference is caused by tubular reabsorption, stop flow experiments were performed during various types of diuresis. No evidence was found for tubular reabsorption of 51Cr-EDTA. The discrepancy is probably caused by decomposition of the complex during storage.
