Abstract

An altered pattern of red cell 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6-PGD) and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) was observed on starch gel but not on agarose gel electrophoresis. The variant pattern occurred only in haemolysates from heparinized blood but not from blood collected in sodium citrate. The lowest concentration of heparin inducing the variant pattern was determined.
