Abstract
For CO calibration purposes, samples—fractions of μl amounts—were taken from streaming CO, and trapped between water surfaces in the needle of a (Hamilton) microliter syringe, transferred to a ‘gas chromatographic’ system for analysis. The sampling technique was easy to perform with the aid of a slightly modified 10 μl syringe, adapted to an original ‘Agla’ burette by means of a coil spring, and a slide guided by a cylinder with a longitudinal slit. The sampling procedure is described. The calibration showed a coefficient of variation of about 2 and a good linearity (r=0.9989) for values between 0.091 and 0.546 μl CO.
