Interaction between Human or Dog Leucocyte Proteases and Plasma Protease Inhibitors

Abstract

Neutral human and dog leucocyte proteases were inactivated by complexation with α₁-antitrypsin and with the α-macroglobulins. These two inhibitors closely resemble one another in their affinity for the above-mentioned proteases and for chymotrypsin, but differ in their affinity for trypsin. The fibrinolytic activity was inhibited by both inhibitors.
