Determination of the intermediate flows when studying deformability of RBC's with Reid and Dormandy's technique

Abstract

From a group of 53 patients aged 55–100 (mean-78 years) we tried to find out a deformability law of the RBC's, by using an original method, inspired by Reid & Dormandy's one. In fact, we have only found a flow-out law, that we believe to be specific to the filtration sieve.

Statistical and mathematical studies of biological, clinic and para-clinic data has led us to conclude that R and D's method is not quite accurate enough for studying RBC's deformability.
