Histochemical Analysis of Secretory Material in a Zollinger Ellison Tumour

Abstract

Mucopolysaccharide-protein containing material has been demonstrated histochemically in large globules of a gastrin-like activity producing Zollinger-Ellison tumour. Close contact of these globules to capillaries and smaller blood vessels suggests the presence of some endocrine material which may be related to the hormone of this tumour.
