Haemobilia as a Cause of Gastro-intestinal Haemorrhage

Abstract

The importance of considering haemobilia in any obscure case of gastro-intestinal haemorrhage is emphasised. Diagnostic points of particular value are stressed. Four case reports illustrating the syndrome are presented. The aetiology of haemobillia is briefly discussed, as is the management of the condition.
