Abstract

A technique of selective precipitation of sulfated glycoproteins (S.G.P.) by cetyl pyridinium chloride is applied to the titration of the S.G.P. in the human gastric secretion, prior to and after injection of Histalog. The analysis is performed in 12 subjects: 2 samples are collected before the administrat ion of the stimulant, 4 others after. The output of S.G.P. is not significantly modified by the administration of Histalog. The concentration of the S.G.P. decreases in a significant way owing to the increase of the volume of the samples. There is a negative correlation between the acid concentration and the concentration of the S.G.P. in the human gastric juice.
