Abstract

A solution of 6 g cattle bile infused intraduodenally (no. = 6) increased the plasma GIP concentration from 35.4 (31.4-43.6) to 47.1 (33.9-51.2) pM. Human bile also increased the GIP concentration in a single patient. A solution of bile salts in an amount and concentration comparable to those of human bile did not influence the GIP concentration.
