Abstract

A study of structure-activity relationships is a powerful tool in exploring the mechanism of action of a drug. In the case of omeprazole, however, the mechanism of action in molecular detail is now quite certain and this knowledge can be used to explain the results obtained when structural changes in the molecule are made.
