Announcement of the activities of OMGE Education Committee

Abstract

The aims of the OMGE Education Committee is to obtain knowledge of the present state of education and training in gastroenterology around the world. Therefore a questionaire has been sent to all gastroenterological associations asking for 1. specialty in medical/surgical gastroenterology, 2. requirements for speciality, 3. training and education programmes, 4. if no speciality, what training and education programs exist, 5. how many centres are recognized for training and education, 6. how many gastroenterologists educated per year, 7. how many are active in hospitals/outside hospitals, if possible estimates per 100,000 inhabitants, 8. comprise your training and education program research work, 9. facilities for continuous training and education programs, no of hours required per year, 10. your personal opinion about the present and future programs in your country/hospital.
