Abstract

The problems with regard to aetiology and continuing high death rate despite vigorous therapeutic efforts in acute pancreatitis have stimulated many investigators to develop experimental models (1). Some examples of these models include bile-induced pancreatitis (which is most frequently used), the closed duodenal loop, and the caerulein hyperstimulation models.
