Abstract

For the production of specific antibodies against primary liver cell carcinoma, monoclonal antibody (McAb) technology was applied. Of the obtained McAbs, VI-133 showed bile-canalicular staining exclusively. McAb VI-196 did not appear to cross-react with viral or fetal antigens, normal or tumor tissue, or tumor cell lines so far tested. This McAb may detect an idiotypic determinant of the PLC/PRF/5 cell.
