Abstract

Background: We report endoscopic excision of a lymphangioma in an infrequent location, Vater's ampulla, with resolution of the obstructive jaundice caused by this tumor.

Methods: An endoscopic papillotomy was performed together with polypectomy of the tumoral mass.

Results: The patient evolved satisfactorily, with jaundice and biochemical cholestasis disappearing.

Conclusions: We believe endoscopic therapy is the ideal treatment for small lymphangiomas in the digestive tract.
