Group F β-hemolytic Streptococcus, Tonsillitis and Myocarditis

Abstract

A case of tonsillitis and myocarditis is reported, where the only positive microbiological finding was a throat swab growing group F β-hemolytic streptococci. The patient made an uneventful recovery after treatment with benzylpenicillin and clindamycin.
