The Technique in Renal Biopsy

Abstract

Some views are given on the choice of biopsy technique in different clinical conditions. In arterial hypertension, renal biopsy is performed after normalization of the blood pressure. In uraemia due to contracted kidneys, biopsy should be done with a surgical technique. Light-and electron-microscopical examinations combined with immunofluorescence offer new diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities. This is illustrated by a case report. Finally, an account is given of a new, modified renal biopsy technique under roentgen-TV.
