Abstract
The mechanism of normal penile erection and of priapism are recapitulated. the importance of venous stasis with the possibility of secondary thrombosis is emphasized. the treatment is discussed in the light of 2 cases from this clinic. Early and effective drainage of the corpora cavernosa using corpus-saphenous shunt is recommended.
