Abstract

A method is described for the preservation and transplanting of rabbit kidneys with simultaneous contra-lateral nephrectomy. Experiments with different perfusion fluid compositions give the same transplantation results as in similar experiments performed with kidneys from larger animals. Thus, a perfusion fluid with a high potassium content gives the best kidney function after 24 hours' preservation.
