Abstract

Horse-antidog antilymphocyte immunoglobulin-G (ALIg-G) was prepared by precipitation with 2-ethoxy-6,9-diamino-acridine lactate (Rivanol). Twenty dogs received azathioprine in a small daily dose after allogenic renal transplantation. ALIg-G treatment was started as soon as a rejection crisis was suspected. Ten dogs receiving no other immunosuppressive therapy were given ALIg-G from the 4th day after allogenic renal transplantation. It appears that ALIg-G treatment may influence early acute rejection in the dog.
