Abstract
An evaluation of the diagnosis and results of conventional therapy of 45 ureteric tumours during the past 15 years showed many inadequacies. The diagnosis is often made too late and the results of treatment, at least in the more malignant tumours, is unsatisfactory. A new approach is required, of a type similar to that used in bladder tumours, with a better preoperative diagnosis (including tumour grading) followed by preoperative radiotherapy and radical surgery.
