Abstract

A new method for percutaneous renal biopsy under the guidance of ultrasound using a special biopsy transducer is described. The main advantage of the method is that the visualization of the kidneys is independent of renal function. Fifty patients have been biopsied using this method, the latter 25 in a consecutive series in which renal tissue was obtained from 24 patients.
