Abstract
Four male patients, aged between 28 and 37 years, had a successful cadaver kidney transplant but hypertension persisted after transplantation. Renin concentration was measured in peripheral plasma and in plasma collected by Seldinger technique from the patient's own kidneys and the kidney graft. There was some correlation in that when a source of high renin production (e.g. one or both of the patient's own kidneys) was removed blood pressure tended to normalize.
