Abstract
1. In radio gas chromatography the eluates from g.l.c. columns are monitored for radioactivity of labelled compounds.
2. This method is of particular advantage in analysing complex mixtures which contain only small amounts of labelled compounds together with an excess of unlabelled contaminants.
3. The basic features of the method are described, and the applicability for drug metabolism studies is discussed.
4. Examples are given for the processing of tissue extracts with special reference to the purification of lipophilic metabolites from tissue lipids.
