Abstract
Part of the teaching of clinical haematology to our third year medical students involves lectures given to the entire class. For the past several years, we have provided, at the beginning of each lecture, handouts on which are reproduced all or most of the 3S-mm slides that will be projected during that lecture. The fiames are positioned vertically on the left side of each page, thus allowing the students to add notes on the right side. There are advantages and disadvantages to this pedagogical method, but we believe that the former outweigh the latter.
