The effect of hysterectomy, transcervical resection of the endometrium and cholecystectomy on urinary symptoms: A subjective analysis

Summary

The association between hysterectomy and the subsequent development of urinary symptoms is contentious. Evidence to support a link has been presented over the years (Smith et al., 1970; Parys et al., 1989), but others have shown either no connection or one that is purely coincidental (Jequier, 1976; Griffith-Jones et al., 1991). Many women date the onset of urinary symptoms to their hysterectomy.
