A Dose of Camp Dost: Meeting the Psychosocial Needs of Children with Cancer

Abstract

Medical advances in the treatment of cancer in children have exacted a high psychological cost. It is necessary for all health-care professionals to explore different means of meeting the adjustment demands of this population. This paper briefly discusses one such intervention–a summer camp experience–while outlining the camp's psychosocial objectives.
