Abstract

Fine needle aspiration biopsy of orbital lesions from 50 patients have been diagnosed with an accuracy of 92%. The technique has been complicated by six orbital hemorrhages, which have been mild and which resolved spontaneously without ill effect. Needle aspiration is associated with minimal discomfort and does not preclude a standard biopsy in case of failure to identify the lesion satisfactorily.
