Alexia without agraphia in a right-handed patient with a left field defect and diffuse cerebral atrophy

Abstract

A right handed patient with alexia without agraphia, a left visual field deficit, intact color naming and diffuse cerebral atrophy on CT is presented. Neuro-psychological testing supported a diagnosis of dyslexia and right parietal dysfunction. These findings constitute unique observations for the clinical syndrome of alexia without agraphia.
