Abstract

Three patients with myasthenia gravis primarily involving ocular muscles had repeated plasmapheresis after unsatisfactory response to more standard therapy with anticholinesterase and steroid therapy. All had a dramatic response within days lasting weeks to months. The authors conclude that plasmapheresis may play an important adjunctive role in the management of certain patients with disabling ocular myasthenia.
