Bilateral Duane's Retraction Syndrome Associated with Congenital Panhypopituitarism

Abstract

A case of bilateral Duane's retraction syndrome type III, associated with panhypopituitarism, is reported. The patient presented with a congenital esotropia of more than 35^o, and spontaneously attained parallelism of the visual axes by the age of five years. It is suggested that a common embryogenic disturbance is responsible for both the pituitary deficiency and Duane's syndrome in this case.
