Abstract
The author has followed three women with long-standing recurrent classic visual migraine, including expanding hemianopic scintillating scotomas with characteristic 'build-up'. Each patient subsequently was found to harbor major arterial degeneration in the vertebrobasilar system in the context of worsening migraine and ultimately additional symptomatology. Such an association has not been reported previously.
